If you walk past Brilliant Primary School or Caso Upendo Primary on any given afternoon, you are likely to hear something beautiful: the rhythmic thumping of tap shoes, the harmony of young voices rehearsing a new song, or the laughter of a theater group practicing a skit.

These aren’t just recreational activities. They are the heartbeat of the FGF Clubs and Performing Arts program.

Why Art is a Tool for Leadership

In communities where young women face intense hardships, traditional lecturing isn’t always the best way to connect. That is why we use creative expression music, dance, singing, and theater as an entry point for holistic growth.

Through our weekly sessions, we see remarkable transformations take place. Girls who used to look at the ground when they spoke are now stepping into the spotlight. Our tailored vocal conditioning and public speaking classes are explicitly designed to help young women overcome stage fright. The confidence they build on stage directly translates into the real world, equipping them to speak up in classrooms, lead community dialogues, and advocate for their rights.

“I used to be too afraid to speak during school assemblies. Joining the singing track taught me how to breathe, project my voice, and stand tall. Now, I know my voice matters.” — FGF Club Participant

Backed by Safaricom’s Ndoto Zetu Initiative

Our ability to sustain and scale these safe spaces relies heavily on visionary partners who believe in our grassroots model. We were incredibly proud to be selected as an official corporate beneficiary of Safaricom’s Ndoto Zetu Initiative.

Safaricom backed our dignity drives with a generous donation of sanitary towels valued at Kshs. 100,000. This massive corporate boost allowed us to stabilize our health distributions, giving our creative team the peace of mind to focus on expanding our arts curriculum and equipping our training hub.

Overcoming Logistics with Solidarity

While we occasionally face material shortages such as a lack of painting and visual art supplies the spirit of collaboration keeps us moving. Thanks to strategic linkages with external creative partners, we ensure that any participant wanting to explore advanced arts can still access training.

By combining physical care (like our pad distributions) with emotional and creative outlets, we are helping young women build full, well-rounded lives.
